Logan Orr enjoys first birthday party October 25
Logan Thaxton Orr, son of Jonathan Orr and February Choe of Athens, celebrated his first birthday with a party at the home of his grandparents, Patrick and Robin Lahr in Washington, on Sunday, October 25.
Guest s enjoyed traditional Korean barbecue along with hamburgers and hot dogs.
To celebrate his Korean heritage, Logan donned the traditional tol-bok (clothes) which were colorful and dressy for the Tol Celebration (first birthday). Logan wore a tol-bok in blue and lilac with a long tol-ddi (a belt that wraps around the body twice) for longevity and a tol-jumuni (pouch) for luck.
Silk cloth was used to make the tol-jumuni that was folded at the top with a colorful thread pull-string to open and close and holds money given to the baby. This was part of the celebration of Logan's first year and to wish him good lunch and health in the years to come.
Logan's special guests included his parents; his grandparents, Arnold and Chong Lester and Patrick and Robin Lahr of Washington and Keeve Orr of Baton Rouge, La.; his great-grandmother, Sandra Baynes of Greensboro and Josephine Orr of Athens; his great-great-grandmother, Lois Hardy of Washington; also Jill and Tyler Harris, Gary, Jessica and Jane Ellyn Hardy, Gloria Hardy of Washington, Wes, Tracey and Elsie Summers of Athens, Clay and Kate Messer of Roswell, Steve, Marie, Andrew and Melissa Tyler of Snellville, Neal, Robin, Jeff and Chris Jones of Lincolnton, Faiz and Kelly Momin of Atlanta; Christina and Saiya Glanton, Kyleigh and Devyn Tucker, DJ and Davon Quick, Meghan and Jessica Tucker, all of Augusta.
