Wheelis Women on Mission group meets November 2

Mary Burt presented a most interesting program to members and guests of the Frances Wheelis Women on Mission Monday evening, November 2, when they met at the home of Melanie Wells.

Mrs. Burt, introduced by Rosemary Hopkins, spoke on the mission trip she took to West Virginia with more than 100 others from the Kilpatrick Association of the Georgia Baptist Convention. While in West Virginia, they conducted Bible clubs, did building, as well an many other hands on activities to witness God's love. She showed a video to emphasize the activities on the trip and to show the areas they worked and ministered.

Prior to her program Melanie Wells presided and led the group in the WMU Watchword.

A business meeting was held.

Kay Nelms gave the mission action report and members voted to continue their support to Shaped by God in Canada and Rick's Institute in Liberia. They also voted support to Ray Moore on his medical missionary trip to Haiti with a monetary gift that he would use to help supply the hospital there. Other projects included snack bags for the ball players and the Shoe Boxes of Love for Seniors project during the holidays.

Associational updates were given and members were reminded of the revival December 6-9 and the annual Christmas caroling and soup activity on December 14.

Louise McClearen led the missionary prayer calendar and the meeting closed with a prayer for the missionaries and those with special needs by Mrs. Wells.

Present for the meeting were members, Bobbie Johnson, Ann Tiller, Melanie Wells, Gail Hunter, Kay Nelms, Cheryl Edwards, Julia Palmer, Elizabeth Pope, Rosemary Hopkins, Priscilla Moore, Louise McClearen, Nancy Madden and guests, Mary Donna Lunceford and Mary Burt.
