Jack Bentley elected to Board of Directors for AgGeorgia Farm Credit
BENTLEY Jack W. Bentley Jr., a dairy farmer in Tignall, has been elected to the Board of Directors for AgGeorgia Farm Credit, an agricultural lending cooperative. The announcement was made last week following the company's stockholder election.
Bentley was one of four directors elected to serve three-year terms. He currently serves on the Board's Governance and Compensation Committees. He also serves on the boards of the American Dairy Association of Georgia, the Wilkes County Farm Bureau, and the Wilkes County Board of Tax Assessors.
Other directors elected were J.E. Jones of Pitts, Georgia; Howard Lawson of Morven, Georgia; and George R. Reeves of Thomson.
AgGeorgia Farm Credit is an agricultural lending cooperative owned by its member-borrowers. It provides farm loans for land, equipment, livestock and production; crop insurance; and rural home mortgages. The Georgia co-op has 4,128 members and over $1 billion in loans outstanding.
AgGeorgia Farm Credit has branches serving 79 counties in Georgia. It is part of the national Farm Credit System, a network of financial cooperatives established in 1916 to provide a dependable source of credit to farmers and rural America.
