Sardis Baptist Church enjoyed having George Pate as guest speaker Sunday morning in the absence of our pastor, Rev. Jim Newsome. Joyce Fry led in some good oldtime hymns with Pam Hall as pianist. The Shoebox dedication was very impressive as 10 children and youth proudly carried the boxes from the foyer to the communion table. A video of a brief history of the Shoebox ministry for "Operation Christmas Child" was shown. Meredith Gunter reported that 41 shoeboxes were put together by the members of Sardis Church and Sunday

Washington News Reporter, this and are filled with excitement as they fill the boxes with special things for the children who would not otherwise have Christmas. Monica Gunter led in a prayer for the children who would receive the boxes and for all the children of the world. It was a wonderful dedication ceremony. We are so thankful for all the children and for all who had a part in this. ƒChristmas play practice continues every Sunday evening at 5 p.m. Prayer meeting is held every Wednesday evening

at the Echols Home at 6 p.m.

ƒPrayers continue for Karan Newsome, Reporter, 2 col x 5" Sudie Kennedy, Jimmy Fisher, Nina Boatwright, Levi Boatwright, Jenelle Newsome, Sherry Newsome, Luanne Brown, Cathy Lannae, Wiley Crittenden, Willis Sherrer, Grady Rogers, Eddie Boswell, Thelma Favor, Troy Chafin, Calli Nickels, Brenda Bunch, Travis Adams, Marty Echols, Thelma Favor, Eric Arnold, Maude Mauldin, Nancy Moon, Frances Vinson, Faye Johnson, Morrison and Priscilla Maxwell, Robert and Edythe Harper, Marion and Millie Mansfield, Bill Bennett, and Curtis Tanner. ƒThe G.A.'s of Sardis Baptist Church carried a box of goodies from the family night meal to Mike and Tina Boatwright, Cody and Levi. Levi will go back to the doctor this week and hopefully get the rest of the cast off his arm. Our prayers are that his arm will be completely healed and everything will be okay. Levi will be one month old Sunday. ƒNina Boatwright continues to improve and our prayers are that she will be completely well soon. Charles and Nina Boatwright's visitors have been Ed and Velma Crooke of Lincolnton; Randy Boatwright and Mike Boatwright and Levi. ƒOur heartfelt sympathy and love goes out to the families of Blanche Armour, Tom Bufford, Geneva Virginia Freeman, Betty B. Redwine, Evans Howell Harris, Nancy Jean Edmond, Gerald Lee Johnson, Gloria Ann Peters. ƒRicky Shedd and Garrett Paul and Garrett's friend, Melissa, spent Sunday afternoon with Johnny and Kathryn Shedd. ƒNeil and Kim Frankel, Zachery, Kyle, and Bryce spent Sunday with Clyde and Sandy Whittington and enjoyed a birthday dinner honoring Kim whose birthday was Friday, November 13. Lindley Hall stopped by for a visit Sunday. ƒBonnie Boatwright enjoyed Sunday dinner with Lamar and Kay Berry, Trey Berry, Kaitlyn and Kaidyn Porter. Afterwards she went over to Bogart to visit her sister, Martha Jones. Wayne Williams was also visiting Martha. Martha and Bonnie attended a wedding shower for their great-niece, Stephanie Stewart, whose upcoming wedding will be December 5. She is my sister Frankie's granddaughter. ƒNovember birthday wishes go to Charles Boatwright, 12; Betty Winfrey, 17; Kay Berry, 22; and Brooke Berry, 23.
