The Washington-Wilkes Middle School boys basketball team beat Lincoln County for the second time this season last week when they travelled to Lincolnton and came home with a 47-42 overtime win.

The game was deadlocked at 40-all when regulation play ended and the young Tigers were missing four starters. But they scored seven in overtime while holding the Red Devils to only two points.

Vincent Wilkerson led the scoring for W-W with an impressive performance of 29 points. Other Tigers who scored included Chris Jackson (5 pts.), Darius Jackson (4), Christian Keiser (2), Jonquise Graves (2), and Andrew Miller (2).

The win puts the team at 2-0 for the season. Results from a Monday game against Taliaferro were unavailable for reporting in this edition.
