A superb service project
TO THE EDITOR:
During the recent annual CSRA Ministerial Alliance Veterans Day Service, Shiloh Lodge No. 63 announced that it desired to perform a service to local churches by assisting with the cleaning and pressure washing of Veteran Administration grave stones in the church cemeteries. With its cemetery having been in use since 1832, Historic New Ford Baptist Church requested to be included among the churches served.
On Tuesday, November 17, the men of Shiloh Lodge No. 63 spent a significant portion of the day at New Ford. The results are that the gravestones of many World War 1, World War 11, Korean Conflict, Viet Nam Conflict, and other era, deceased veterans are now legible and have a marvelous newness about them that enhances the entire cemetery.
New Ford's Pastor James White states in his letter of appreciation, "We genuinely appreciate Shiloh Lodge No. 63 for providing this most needed act of community service. Our prayer is that your Lodge continues to make a positive difference in the community as you continue to serve."
