Educators get McDonald's education for charity

Educators including (from right) W-WCHS Principal Steve Echols and Assistant Principal Mark Ward get instruction from crewmember Zach Gebing on the complexities of getting an order right, as Principal Wanda Jenkins and store owner Janie Cravens practice smiling at customers. For the 10th year running, principals and teachers from Wilkes County schools served up burgers and fries at Washington's McDonald's last week, raising hundreds of dollars for the Augusta Ronald McDonald House. The house serves as a home to parents whose children are hospitalized in one of Augusta's hospitals. As they do every year, they said, the educators learned quickly that working at McD's is "much harder than it looks."
