Washington residents enjoy Caribbean cruise Nov. 1-7
A group of Washington friends and their guests enjoyed a sevennight Western Caribbean cruise November 1-7.
After an overnight stay in St. Augustine, Fla., on Saturday evening, the group sailed from Port Canaveral, Fla., aboard the Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas. They sailed to Labedee, Haiti, to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, to Georgetown, Grand Cayman, and on to Cozumel, Mexico. Tours of the islands were enjoyed at each stop. In addition many had the excitement of swimming with the dolphins while other more daring travelers swam with the sting rays.
On the last night of the cruise, the group celebrated the birthday of Teresa Bishop with a special cake from the chefs and a hardy rendition of "Happy Birthday" sung by the wait staff and the group.
On the trip were Ed and June Smith, Cindy Gillespie and her mother, Effie Purvis of Tifton, W.C. and Cheryl Bentley and her sister, Dolly Harper of Douglasville, Bill and Teresa Bishop, Mary Bradford, Jim and Sue Davidson, Ed and Roberta George, Sybil Lincoln of Commerce and Mary Mauney of Winston.
