Eligible seniors can get assistance with energy bills
Applications will be received Monday, November 30, for seniors who are 65 years or older who are interested in participating in the Low Income Energy Assistance program in Wilkes County. The program is to assist in paying heating bills.
All members of the household must be 65 years of age or older to qualify (with the exception of youth under 17 in the home.) Interested persons should apply for the assistance at the Third Shiloh Missionary Center, 219 McLendon Drive, Washington, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on November 30.
Those applying must have the following items: picture identification; Social Security Card for all household members; income for the past 30 days for all household members; and a recent heating bill.
