Graveside services for Nell Lorine Wilson Atwood, 88, of Washington were held Wednesday, December 9, 2009, in the Burdett-Ayers family cemetery with Rev. Stephen Rayner officiating. She died Sunday, December 6.

Mrs. Atwood was a native of Columbus and was the daughter of the late William M. Wilson and the late Emma E. Funderburk. She was a retired waitress and the widow of Edward Warren Atwood.

Survivors include a sister, Jesse O’Shields, Miami, Fla.; a brother, George Wilson; eight grandchildren, including Charlene Qualls, George Ayers Jr., Patricia Nolan, and Raymond Ayers of Washington. She was also a great-great-grandmother.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
