Homemakers enjoy fall flower arrangements, set next meeting
The Tignall Homemakers met November 19 at the North Wilkes Library. Vice-president Celeste Adams welcomed members and visitors and led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. Billie Carroll gave the devotional. A business meeting followed.
Club members enjoyed a display of fall flower arrangements created by Pat Mack. The winner of the beautiful Christmas centerpiece was Doris Rhodes.
Celeste Adams and Doris Rhodes, hostesses for the day, provided delicious refreshments.
Members present were Celeste Adams, Elaine Boiter, Mary Brodnax, Linda Burns, Paula Butts, Billie Carroll, Becky Dixon, Louise Harper, Marlene Jackson, Sally Kennedy, Edna Lamar, Jackie Long, Pat Mack, Sarah Pelot, Edna Rhodes, Genevieve Thurmond, and Mary Webster. Doris Rhodes and Traci Eifling were visitors.
The Tignall Homemakers wish to thank all of its members who helped with the preparations for this year’s Tignall Fall Festival. The soup kitchen was a success and the beautiful quilt was a great attraction. Marlene Jackson was the recipient of the quilt this year.
The club especially wishes to express appreciation to Becky Dixon, Pat Mack, Sarah Pelot, Sally Kennedy, and Elaine Fain. Their time and efforts went beyond the call of duty and made it possible to complete the quilt project in time for the festival.
The next meeting will be on December 17. Members will enjoy the annual Christmas covered dish luncheon and holiday bingo. Please note that the luncheon will begin at 12:00 noon and will be held in the meeting room at the North Wilkes Library.
