Dorminy All-Academic at Shorter
Josh Dorminy, a junior at Shorter College, was named to the Mid- South Football Conference All-Academic squad for the second time.
Dorminy is a member of the Hawks football team at Shorter College in Rome, Georgia, where he started four games at right offensive tackle and was named the Chic-Fil-A player of the game against Union College of Kentucky. In that game the Hawks scored 56 points and rushed for 361 yards. The Shorter Hawks led the nation in NAIA football in 2009 in rushing yards.
Josh is an education major at Shorter College and is carrying a 3.8 gpa. He is the son of Rick and Jac Dorminy of Darien and the grandson of Fred and June Dorminy of Thomasville.
Dr. Fred Dorminy is a former Superintendent of Schools in Wilkes County. Rick Dorminy is a former Tiger and a 1981 graduate of Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School.
