Tigers still looking for first win
DESMOND JACKSON PASSES OFF FROM THE CORNER He is the Tigers
Tiger Basketball Head Coach Don Keiser said he got a whole lot meaner at practice on Monday after his team dropped the home opener to Calhoun Falls last Saturday. “I reamed them,” he said, “and then we had a really great practice.”
A second-quarter run of 18 points by the Blue Flashes was more than W-W could overcome as they lost their second game of the season 60-79 against Calhoun Falls. The Tigers were up 14-11 and then all of a sudden it was 14-29 and Calhoun never looked back.
Earlier in the week, Greene County handed W-W its first loss of the year in the season opener in Greensboro, 64-45.
But the Tigers have not been full strength in either of their first two games with players missing quarters for disciplinary reasons, and Neko Jones sidelined with a nagging injury.
W-W will meet Calhoun Falls and Greene County again this weekend on Friday and Saturday nights.
