Marines bring Toys for Tots for local children

U.S. Marine reservists and Young Marines from Augusta unload hundreds of toys, books, and bicycles at the Washington police station to help fill the needs of the department’s annual “Gifts for Children” campaign. “This is a Godsend,” said Assistant Chief Theodosia Glenn. “We were really worried that we couldn’t meet all the requests we had, but with the help of Sgt. Sherry Hopper-Berrera and the Augusta Marines, we have enough for Santa to give out to our children in need this year.” Santa will be giving out gifts at the department on Wednesday, December 23.
