Salvation Army needs more donations

Volunteer bell ringer Lois Strong welcomes another donation during the annual kettle drive, but the Army’s Wilkes County unit is desperately in need of more donations. “We’ve had so many desperate requests for help,” said Dot Harris, “I’m hoping that people can be more generous with their donations this year. There are so many families who are in need, more than ever before, and we’re going to be very hard-pressed to help with the donations we’re getting. Please be as generous as you can.” The Wilkes County unit helped more than 100 local families with urgent needs last year. Contributions may be sent in care of Dot Harris, 409 N. Alexander Ave. Washington, Ga. 30673.
