Robert Matthew Shedd, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Shedd of Rayle, celebrated his tenth birthday on November 18.

Matt was treated to a family party on Sunday, November 22. He, his family and guests enjoyed a Sunday lunch of vegetable beef soup, cornbread and sandwiches. Dessert was Matt’s chocolate layer birthday cake that was made by his grandmother, Mrs. W. C. Bentley.

Joining Matt and his parents were his brothers, Mil and Morgan; grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. W. C. Bentley and Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Shedd; Mr. and Mrs. John Mack, J.T. and Mary Kathryn, Mrs. Chip Bentley, Danielle and Aubrey, Mr. and Mrs. Tim Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Chad Williams and Mrs. Paul Wright and Ava.

Matt celebrated with his friends on Tuesday, November 24, with a spend-the-night party. His guests arrived in the afternoon after school and enjoyed a supper of hot dogs and chili with all the trimmings. Matt had an Atlanta Braves birthday cake that was served with ice cream to all his guests. The boys entertained themselves the rest of the evening by watching movies, playing video games and cards. After settling in for the night in the playroom, the boys enjoyed a buffet breakfast the next morning before playing outside.

Celebrating this occasion with Matt were his brothers, Mil and Morgan; Bailey Brock, Patterson Hutto, J.T. Mack, Brannon Saggus, Donald Saggus and Wes Tanner.
