Beta Club organizes food drive

Through the organizational efforts of the Beta Club, Washington-Wilkes Middle School collected 1,082 food items during the week of December 7-11 to be donated to the First United Methodist Church food bank, for distribution during the holiday season. To promote school spirit, the Beta Club sponsored a homeroom competition for who could collect the most food items. The winners were: Teresa Eason’s seventh grade math homeroom with 167 items; Ansley Johnson’s sixth grade earth science homeroom with 146 items; and Trudie Gallo’s eighth grade physical science homeroom with 136 items.
