A Mass of a Christian burial was held at St. Michael Church in Fryburg, Penn., Thursday, December 17, 2009, for Michael A. Nuhfer, 63, of Venus, Penn., formerly of Union Point, Ga. Rev. David Poulson, pastor, presided. Burial was in the St. Michael Cemetery following the mass. He died Monday, December 14, after a lengthy illness. A parish vigil service was held Wednesday, December 16, at Faller Funeral Home in Fryburg.

Mr. Nuhfer was the son of the late Karl S. and Hulda K. McCrae Nuhfer. He was a graduate of Cranberry High School and New Castle Business College. He worked in management for Universal Rundle Corp. and Crane Plumbing. He was a golfer and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Shindledecker Nuhfer; his children, Mark and Tracie Vinson Nuhfer of Athens, Todd Nuhfer, Lawrenceville, Matthew Jennings of Lawrenceville, and Kevin and Amanda Nuhfer of Milledgeville; grandchildren, Summer and Hope Ashley Nuhfer of Athens; a brother, Howard Nuhfer, Hermitage, Penn.; five sisters, Helen Schupp of Oil City, Penn., Juanita Eisenman, Fryburg, Martha Ryan, Middletown, Ohio, Kathy Smith of Ben Salem, Penn., and Germaine Kaiser, Templeton, Penn.

Faller Funeral Home of Fryburg, Penn., was in charge of arrangements.
