Softball awards presented

The top three softball awards went to the three W-W Tiger seniors at the team’s annual banquet recently. Shortstop Yakira Banks (front left) was named Most Valuable Player while Ashley West (center) and Nikki Freeman (right) got the award for Best Defensive Player and Best Offensive Player, respectively. Paige McAvoy (back left) was named Most Improved Player and Cayla Gilland (right) was selected Best Pitcher. Receiving varsity letter awards were Alaina Weber, Yakira Banks, Ashley West, Nikki Freeman, Amber Warren, Lauren Roberts, Mallory Powell, Hannah McTier, Hannah Ward, Lauren Harrison, Gabby Lavender, Cayla Gilland, Paige McAvoy, and Lauren Chafin. Head Coach Rob Jackson expressed his thanks to Phil Tanner for cooking the chicken halves for the banquet.
