the new book by Dr. Steve Fisher, promises to help anyone who is almost or over 50 years old achieve a higher state of health and wellness.
Dr. Fisher, a board certified alternative medical practitioner, presents a comprehensive plan that will empower readers with the knowledge needed to improve every aspect of their lives in a holistic manner.
Healthy & Fit After Fifty discusses ways to improve physically, emotionally and spiritually. Dr. Fisher sets out to help readers look and feel better, live longer and with a higher quality of life, overcome lifestyle sickness or disease, remain physically active and have better sex.
Healthy & Fit After Fifty presents evidence that challenges traditional ideas about aging. Dr. Fisher explains:
“It has recently been reported that people should be living to 120 years. Scientists have recently discovered that people will live this long when they are free of sickness and disease, or have the ability to overcome sickness and disease. The Bible states in Genesis 6:2 that man shall live 120 years. . . . So if 120 is the end of one’s life, then 50 is not even the middle of a lifetime. For the sake of this book, I want you, the reader, to entertain me, and consider middle age to be 50 to 100, and 101 to 120 to be a senior citizen.”
Dr. Fisher discusses how he achieved his own state of wellness and presents exercise programs and nutritional regimes for people in this age group. “At 57 years young I feel great and can still do most of the things I did in my twenties,” he writes. The book covers nutrition, supplementation (who should take what,) exercise, flexibility, emotional and spiritual well-being, and natural solutions to prevalent health problems.
Dr. Fisher has a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and a doctorate in naturopathy from Clayton College. He has been helping people achieve higher levels of health and fitness for more than 35 years. Healthy and Fit After Fifty is his first book, and he is currently working on another titled Ten Deadliest Lifestyle Sins.
