Funeral services for Rosa Nell Wheeler Veazey, 96, of Crawfordville were held Monday, January 11, 2010, at Powelton Baptist Church near Sparta with Rev. Jeff Bishop officiating. Interment was in the Powelton Cemetery. She died Saturday, January 9, at Greene- Point Health Care Center in Union Point.

Mrs. Veazey was a native of Taliaferro County and was the daughter of the late Macon Wheeler and Blanche Rhodes Wheeler. She attended Margaret’s Grove School and graduated from Alexander Stephens Institute in Crawfordville. She was the widow of Andrew Pryor Veazey. She worked for Royal Manufacturing Co. in Crawfordville for a while but left to help her husband on the farm. She was a member of the Powelton Baptist Church and the Taliaferro County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include a daughter, Margaret V. Agee of Milledgeville; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Ruth Veazey of Crawfordville; a sister, Sybil Wheeler Veazey of Crawfordville; five grandchildren, Leslie Agee, Tony Agee, Freddy Agee, Terri Agee Wommack and Andy Veazey; nine great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Leslie Agee, Willard Cooper, Wesley Wommack, Mike Butts, Tony Agee, Freddy Agee, Milton Lyle, and Lewis Brown.

Callaway Funeral Home of Union Point was in charge of arrangements.
