Lady Tigers sweep week’s games

The Washington-Wilkes Lady Tigers basketball team bounced back from a five-game losing streak with a three-game sweep of the week’s games including wins over Aquinas (39-35), Lincoln County (57-43), and Glascock County (55-46), all region opponents.
Most recently, after being down by three points, Head Coach Nick Brinson reports that it was the defense that turned the Glascock game around, shutting down their opponent and allowing a 30-18 run in the second half.
Scoring in that game for W-W were Nikki Freeman leading the way with 17 points and Tanisha Walton right behind with 13. Sanquela Gresham also doubled with 11 points. Rashanda Brittain and Yakira Banks added to the total with eight and six points, respectively.
Scoring against Lincoln County were Freeman (24), Gresham (8), Banks (8), Brittain (5), Shaquenda Gartrell (5), Walton (3), Charlene Hawes (2), and Tiare Tatum (2).
Freeman also led the scoring against Aquinas with 12 points. Other Lady Tigers scoring included Brittain (10), Banks (6), Walton (4), Gresham (3), Gartrell (2), and Hawes (2).
