OLLI members complete study on economic, financial change
Dr. Ron Cerwonka and Dr. John Rudy, members of OLLI at the University of Georgia, led the discussion at the Washington Chapter OLLI.
Nineteen members of the Washington, Georgia, chapter of Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Georgia have completed a three-session course on Economic, Financial Change: Impact on U.S. Global Societies.
Dr. Ron Cerwonka and Dr. John Rudy led the course which addressed issues such as the worldwide economic reversal, how we arrived at this downturn. The class examined the immediate impact on the individual and society, both in the U.S. and abroad
A look into the future traced probable changes in the U.S. and foreign financial, economic and political systems and global leadership.
Dr. Cerwonka is a retired professor of business, and Dr. Rudy retired from the field of international banking. The two led the classes with wit and conflicting opinions. The class reached some conclusions that will help individuals cope with a less stable and friendly future. Members were able to present their views and ask questions.
The Washington Chapter of OLLI (formerly LIR) is open to older and retired adults who are interested in enriching their lives through learning. Upcoming classes will be announced in The News-Reporter.
