‘Taste of Athens’ set for Classic Center February 21

Eat, Drink, and Help Many by attending the 17th annual A Taste of Athens. Sample over 50 local restaurants, wine and beer, enjoy live music, and bid on fabulous silent auction items. A Taste of Athens benefits Community Connection of Northeast Georgia who, for more than 25 years, has empowered our community to “Get, Give, and Grow Help.”

The event will take place on Sunday, February 21, from 5-8 p.m. at The Classic Center, 300 N. Thomas Street in Athens, Georgia. General admission tickets are $45 each; VIP tickets are $75 and include early entry to the event at 4:30, access to the VIP garden, and a complimentary wine glass and plate.

Assisting over 70,000 people each year to find the help they need, Community Connection is an umbrella agency overseeing three crucial services in Northeast Georgia:

Give Help: Connecting individuals in the 14-county area resources via the 2-1-1 Information and Referral Helpline which provides more than 30,000 referrals to individuals in need of services each year;

Get Help: Connecting thousands of interested citizens to volunteer opportunities in our community via the Hands On Northeast Georgia program;

Grow Help: Connecting organizations to resources (including each other) via the Non-Profit Development Alliance, which helps non-profit organizations receive the training, support and assistance they need, while ‘incubating’ new programs to fill gaps in services.
