Todd Wilmot (left), plant manager for Berry Plastics, formerly Pliant Corporation, in Washington, gave the Washington Rotary Club an overview of the local plant’s operations and products at its regular Thursday lunch meeting last week. Wilmot explained that the plant’s two principle products are agricultural mulch film and diaper waterproof barrier film. He pointed out that the average employee at the Washington plant has 14-16 years experience which “makes for a very strong plant,” and he said that
currently the plant produces 92 million pounds of product and has plans
to expand to a 115 million-pounds capacity in 2010. Ty Staples (right) Annual Meeting was program chairman.
