Dairy Show Team places well at Rayle EMC Dairy Heifer Show
The Wilkes County 4-H Dairy Show Team competed in the Rayle EMC Invitational Junior Commercial Dairy Heifer Show last weekend.
The Wilkes County 4-H Dairy Show Team competed in the third annual Rayle EMC Invitational Commercial Dairy Heifer Show hosted in Washington Saturday, January 30.
Placing were: Marlyse Sifre with first in showmanship and third in weight class; Courtney Thackston with first in weight class and sixth in showmanship; Shannon Thackston with second in weight class and second in showmanship; Megan Thackston with second in weight class and third in showmanship; Joshua Rimes with fourth in weight class and fourth in showmanship; Miranda Crook with fifth in weight class and fourth in showmanship; and Brianna Rimes with fifth in weight class and sixth in showmanship.
“These showmen were placed better than ever,” Audra Armour, County Extension 4-H Agent said. “This is a wonderful group of showmen. The 4-H’ers and their parents have been dedicated toward making this season successful and we appreciate their contributions and hard work. The show team, parents and extension agents would also like to thank the Rayle EMC administration Annual and board of directors for sponsoring this local show and allowing these students the opportunity to participate in such a wonderful program. We wish the team good luck as they compete at the 13th Annual UGA Dairy Heifer show in Athens next weekend.” she added.
