Ashmore honored by wrestlers at last home meet of season
Tiger senior wrestler Tyrance Ashmore was honored at the team’s final home meet of the season. He was also congratulated by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ashmore.
The Washington-Wilkes Tiger wrestling team honored its only senior wrestler, Tyrance “Booman” Ashmore at its final home match of the season Friday, January 29.
Ashmore was introduced to the crowd and recognized for his career achievements. In his W-W career, Ashmore has won over 100 matches, placed in Area 2A, and placed at the State Tournament in the 215 lb. weight class. This season Ash- more carries a record of 32-5, with tournament championships at the Viking Invitational at Treutlen High School, and the Redskin Rumble at Social Circle High School. He is considered one of the favorites at the upcoming State Tournament.
Ashmore plans to attend the Apprentice School in Norfolk, Virginia, following graduation. Details of the rest of the Tigers’ season as well as the upcoming Area Tournament will be reported as they are made available.
