Wills Memorial Hospital granted 3-year renewal of accreditation

Wills Memorial Hospital has been notified by the Joint Commission that it has been granted renewed accreditation for a three-year period based on the results of a survey conducted last November.

Hospital CEO Marvin Goldman praised the staff of Wills Memorial for its ongoing commitment to quality. “The community can be proud that Wills Memorial is focusing on the goal of continuously raising the quality and safety bar to even higher levels,” he said.

The Joint Commission is a nationally recognized organization founded in 1951 for the purpose of surveying health care providers to determine their level of compliance with the Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety. Joint Commission accreditation is widely recognized as the “Gold Seal of Approval” for hospitals and health care organizations nationwide.

These surveys are conducted on an unannounced basis by experienced health care professionals which means an accredited organization must maintain a continued state of readiness.
