Funeral services for Robert Cullars, 85, of Washington were held Friday, January 29, 2010, at the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Metasville Road, Washington, with Rev. Charles E. Lacy Jr. officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. He died Sunday, January 24.

Mr. Cullars was the son of the late Marshall “Cap” Cullars and Ida Flournoy Cullars and was the widower of Agnes Wallace Cullars. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for two years, and was a member of the Mount Nebo Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Cullars Jr. of Atlanta, and Sylvester Cullars of Washington; three daughters, Mary Agnes Anderson, Claudette Willis, and Trudy Cullars of Washington; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Cullars and L.D. Cullars of Washington; and five sisters, Anna Jackson, Philadelphia, Penn., Viola Freeman and Grace Parks of Lincolnton; and Lillie Pink Cullars and Evelyn Danner of Washington.

McLendon Memorial Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
