RAYLE NEWS

By Bonnie Boatwright Call 274-3264

We got our snow Friday and it was so pretty and we enjoyed it so much. I still want it to snow on a school day for the children to get out of school. The snow was just right, here today, gone tomorrow. It was soft and fluffy and not mixed with rain. J.W. made us some snow ice cream. It was so good. ƒ Sardis Baptist Church enjoyed a wonderful message by George Pate Sunday morning in the absence of Rev. Jim Newsome. Family night was held in the annex with a fellowship meal and mission meetings. Prayer meeting is held every Wednesday evening at the Echols Home at 5:30 p.m. ƒThe chili supper at Sardis Saturday evening was very successful with good attendance, wonderful fellowship, and a delicious meal. The funds raised will benefit the Relay for Life. Approximately 35 people attended and we had a good time. ƒPrayer continues for Kelly Armour, Tim Echols, Jimmy Fisher, Douglas Burkett, Betty Hight, Geneva Cowart, Ridge Moore, Ann Gunter, Catherine Callaway, Nancy Moon, Frances Vinson, Jenelle Newsome, Grady Rogers, Travis Adams, George Wideman, Edythe Harper, Thelma Favor, Dorothy Callaway, Eric Arnold, Brooke Bentley Pearson, Wiley Crittenden, Jimmy Fisher, Freddy Brown, Eddie Boswell, Luanne Brown, Jimmy Compton, Liz Bolton, Patsy Epps, Marion and Millie Mansfield, Morrison and Priscilla Maxwell, Maude Mauldin, Janice Armour Browning. ƒOur heartfelt sympathy and love goes out to the Paul Bennett family, Robert Cullars family, Carl W. Stewart Jr. family, Olis H. Winn Family, Albert Truitt Smalley family, Ellis Ralph Mahoney family. They will be greatly missed. ƒBonnie Boatwright enjoyed attending the morning worship service at County Line Baptist Church Sunday. Rev. Terry Kenney, the new pastor, brought a very interesting and inspiring message. The beautiful red roses arrangement on the piano was placed in memory of Carla Thaxton Brown by her parents, Tommy and Fran Thaxton. Afterwards, a Valentine luncheon was given in the fellowship hall in honor of the Kenney family. I enjoyed seeing many friends whom I don't get to see much. ƒ Spending Sunday with Buck and Linda Echols were Angela Armour and Hunter, Will and Samantha Callaway, Scott and Sissy Smith and J.T., Richard and Lou Heard and Hank. ƒA birthday dinner at the home of Shirley Chafin honored the February birthdays including Shirley and Terri Diaz who share the same birthday on the ninth; and Mack Chafin whose birthday is the tenth.
