During his work on the “Law and Order” series, Byron Jenkins got to visit with one of the show’s stars, Anthony Anderson. Jenkins appears in hit tv shows, Byron Jenkins, formerly of Tignall, is making a name for himself in Hollywood. He is an actor/comedian and is currently filming various television shows and movies.

He will be making appearances in television shows such as “Ugly Betty” and the February 3 episode of “Law and Order SVU.” “I just make a cameo appearance in the background,” says Jenkins. “I’ll take it because that background work has led to both of my lead roles that are coming up.” He also plays the lead in “Manhattan North,” an all-blackcast soap opera.

Jenkins will make several cameo appearances in upcoming movies including this summer’s Angelina Jolie film, Salt. He will also appear in Step Up 3-D, Trophy Kids, Going the Distance starring Drew Barrymore, and Just Wright starring Queen Latifah. He will play the lead in the new movie One Time Around as well, which begins filming in April.

Jenkins is a 1986 graduate of Washington- Wilkes Comprehensive High School where he played football, ran track, and excelled in baseball. He attended acting classes at the Penny Templeton Studio in New York City and plans to make a name for his hometown saying, “Garrison Hearst, my friend, put Lincolnton on the map and I will put Washington-Wilkes and Tignall on the map as well!”
