R. T. Walton R. T. Walton of Tignall was honored on his 70th birthday at a dinner celebration on Saturday, January 16, at Pole Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Tignall. His birthday was January 17.

The festivities were hosted by his children, Elaine Barksdale, Teresa Walton and Travis Walton of Washington, Sandra Walton and Andrea Ashmore of Tignall, and Delores Leverett of Lincolnton.

A bountiful dinner of turkey and dressing, ham, chicken, collard greens, green beans, corn, peas, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, pies and birthday cake was enjoyed. His cake, decorated with silver and black roses, was topped with “Happy 70th Birthday”.

About 70 guests attended and showered him with cards, gifts and other birthday wishes.
