Honest Wilkes Co. young people deserve to be thanked properly
TO THE EDITOR:
First, let me say that we have some honest young people in Wilkes County.
On February 16, my brother-in-law and I went into Ingles to purchase a few things. While at the check-out counter, I was feeling around in my pockets for my wallet.
Two young African-American gentlemen came up to the check-out counter and asked if I were John. I said that I was. One of them said, “This belongs to you.” It was my wallet. In shock, not knowing I had lost it, I thanked them and paid the cashier.
When I turned to thank them again and get their names, they were already outside about to get into their vehicle.
All of my things were still in my wallet – cards, license, and a $100 bill, a $20 bill, and three ones.
I only wish I could have thanked them in the proper way.
To the two young gentlemen: if you read this, “Thank you,” and if you ever see me again, please let me know it was you who found my wallet.
