WMH Tea and Learn to feature program by Bruce Bailey
Bruce Bailey will be the guest speaker at the Wills Memorial Hospital Tea and Learn on Wednesday, March 10, at 2:30 p.m. in the Simpson Building on Gordon Street.
Mr. Bailey, Director of Performance Improvement at Wills Memorial, will speak on Advance Directive and Do Not Resuscitate (DNR), two important documents that everyone should have.
The Advance Directive allows a person to state his or her preferences concerning end of life decisions. The DNR is initiated by the physician at an individual’s request. Both documents should be on file with medical records and within the home.
Mr. Bailey grew up in Ardmore, Ala. Upon graduation from high school in l981, he joined the United States Army and served with distinction for ten years. This included several tours abroad.
He began his medical career in l992 by becoming an EMT and then a paramedic. In this same year he came to Wills Memorial and worked in the emergency room. In 1995 Mr. Bailey became an LPN and is presently pursing his nursing degree while also working at Wills Memorial.
