Young Farmers win awards at convention


Three couples represented the Wilkes County chapter at the Georgia Young Farmers Association State Convention held in Stone Mountain. The Wilkes County Young Farmer Chapter was selected as a finalist for Chapter of the Year and received $100 and a plaque for the honor. Kyle Brown (back, right) participated in a Farm Management Test that is given to anyone who would like to participate. The test assesses knowledge in farm management concepts. Brown was the second place winner and received $100 for his placing. Ray Moore (back, left) received an Outstanding Member Award, and Jennifer Holton (front, center) placed first and won $100 in the scenic photo contest. Others attending included Tammy Moore, Sandra Brown, and Eric Holton.
