Hours for the Washington- Wilkes Animal Shelter have changed. The shelter is now open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; or by appointment by calling 706-678-3187.

The First United Methodist Church will have a "fantastic meal with roast beef followed by an auction with treasures that will delight you" on Sunday, March 28, beginning at 12:30. The auction will begin around 1:30 p.m. Proceeds will go to the church's building fund to help retire the loan on the fellowship hall.
