Agricultural Mechanics team wins Area II FFA competition
FFA Area Champion Agricultural Mechanics team members are Dalton Howard, Gabe Strother, Josh Dobbs, and Seth Canterbury.
The Washington-Wilkes FFA Agricultural Mechanics team won the Area II FFA Agricultural Mechanics Career Development Event held at Franklin County High School in Carnesville, Georgia, February 25.
Team members Gabe Strother, Seth Canterbury, Josh Dobbs, and Dalton Howard will now move on to participate in state competition March 20 at the Georgia FFA Camp in Covington. The state winning team will advance to national competition held in conjunction with the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, in October.
The W-W team participated in individual problem solving and skill development activities and took a written examination. The event included subject matter associated with machinery and equipment systems and energy systems.
FFA is a national organization of over 506,000 members preparing for leadership and careers in the science, business, and technology of agriculture. FFA is an integral part of the agricultural education program in public schools.
