There were good services at Clifford’s Grove Baptist Church Sunday. Rev. Martin had foot surgery Thursday and was using a walker but able to preach. I was not there, but was so glad to hear that Charles and Dianne Pullen, Karmen, Samuel, and Hannah Grace Moon were back. Charles has been so sick and now we are glad he is getting better and hope he is on the road to recovery. ƒJames and I went to Anderson, S.C., Sunday to attend services at Homeland Park Baptist Church. Rev. Craig Neile was guest speaker. When James and his family lived there in the 1960s, Rev. Neile was their pastor. They have remained friends and kept in touch through the years. He is 90 years old and is now blind, but he preached a very good message and also sang "It Is No Secret What God Can Do." We enjoyed being there with him. ƒKathryn Bussey, bride-elect of Reid Filipiak, was guest of honor at a lovely bridal shower held at the Washington Woman's Club Saturday morning. ƒJoining Reid Filipiak and Kathryn Bussey for the day Saturday were her parents, Andy and Betty Bussey. While Kathryn and her mother were at her shower, Reid and Andy spent time together. ƒAlso coming for Kathryn's shower were Reid's cousins, Emily and Stephanie Friese of Atlanta. This was their first trip to Washington and they were very impressed with our town and are looking forward to coming again. ƒElizabeth and Chris Conway of Athens and James and Keeley Lance of Augusta visited Willard and Sue Lance during the weekend. ƒWhen young, consider that one day you will be old and when old, remember you were once young.
