Rev. Jim Newsome brought a wonderful message on “How Do You Deal With All of That?” from Revelation at Sardis Baptist Church Sunday morning. Joyce Fry directed the music with Pam Hall at the piano with good old time hymns by the congregation. The children went down to the altar for their message by Pastor Newsome. Trey Berry held children’s church in the annex after this. Sunday evening brought another study from Corinthians by Pastor Newsome. Prayer meeting is every Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m. at the Echols Home. ƒJoyce Fry will host family night in the annex at Sardis Sunday evening with a fellowship meal and mission meetings. You are invited. ƒFriday evening is youth night at 6 p.m. at the home of Tracy and Denise Armour. Come and bring your friends for an exciting evening. Board games will be played and other fun things are planned. ƒThe yard sale by the Relay for Life Team of Sardis was very successful Saturday. We appreciate everyone who came out and supported us or helped in any way. We had a good time being together and seeing old friends and meeting new people who came out to support us in this Relay for Life event. ƒPrayers continue for Monica Gunter, Robbie Tanner, Lyn Armour, Nina Boatand wright, Teresa Saggus, Wiley Crittenden, Eddie Boswell, Marty Echols, Tim Echols, Betty Berry, Tommy Bowen, Graham Eason, Ann Gunter, Catherine Callaway, Douglas Burkett, Jimmy Fisher, Ridge Moore, George Wideman, Kelly Armour, Freddy Brown, Thomas Shultes, Jimmy Compton, Brooke Bentley Pearson, Calli Nickels, Grady Rogers, Jenelle Newsome, Betty Hight, Geneva Cowart, Nancy Moon, Frances Vinson, Luanne Brown, Travis Adams, Jimmy Compton, Patsy Epps, Liz Bolton, Thelma Favor, Edythe Harper, Maude Mauldin, Eric Arnold, Dorothy Callaway, Marion and Millie Mansfield, Morrison and Priscilla Maxwell. ƒBobby and Vickie Hawes and Rozelle Burt of Augusta and Peggy Echols visited Betty Berry Sunday. ƒWe are glad to report that Monica Gunter came home from the hospital Saturday and is feeling much better. Kelly Armour is feeling much better after being in the hospital. Nina Boatwright is much better. Lyn Armour is going for tests this week. ƒ Bonnie Boatwright joined Helen Smith, Joyce Silvey, and Roz Echols Saturday afternoon in Crawford for a trip to Lavonia for dinner at the Gumlog Barbecue, steak, chicken and seafood lodge. Afterwards they came back to Crawford for cake and coffee at the home of Helen her mother, Gertrude Jones. ƒLove and sympathy go out to the families of Claude Earl Johnson, Corrine L. Kitchens, Frank M. Savage, Carlton Edward Dornberg, Greta Denise Franklin, and L.M. Hill Jr. They will be greatly missed. ƒAvery Hall placed second in the standing position at the 4-H S.A.F.E. BB competition in Walton County Saturday. He was competing with over 100 4-H'ers. He shot a score of 92 out of 100 in standing and had a score of 353. Avery is the son of Boyce and Pam Hall. ƒFriday night, Tommy and Fran Thaxton joined some of Tommy's classmates and friends for a get-together at China 1 in Crawford. ƒSunday afternoon Bonnie Boatwright joined Gertrude Jones and Helen Smith at McDonald's in Washington for coffee. ƒKyle Franklin spent Saturday night with his grandparents, Clyde and Sandy Whittington. ƒTommy and Lee Thaxton attended a reunion with racecar teams and fans at the Athens Speedway Saturday. ƒAngela Armour, Cody and Hunter, Samantha Callaway, Scott and Sissy Smith, J.T., Richard and Lou Heard, Mattie and Hank, spent Sunday with Buck and Linda Echols. ƒDebra (Bobby) Armour went to Quiet Oaks to a meeting Friday and Frances Fendley accompanied her and visited with the residents. ƒAngie Williams, Cody Paul, and Ashtyn, Gail Stewart and Ava Wright visited Johnny and Kathryn Shedd Sunday. ƒMarch birthday wishes go out to Rethna Lee, Trey Berry, 10th; and Betty Berry, 31st.
