Mary C. Reid Women on Mission members meet at First Baptist
The Mary C. Reid Women on Mission of First Baptist Church met Tuesday morning, March 2, in the conference room.
Mrs. Dennis Hopkins, facilitator, led the reading of the WMU Watchword, the mission statement and offered the opening prayer.
Prayer for those with special needs was led by Mrs. Mary Ann Bentley.
The mission in action project approved for March will be a donation to the Annie Armstrong offering for North American Missions and to the expenses for the March 20 Annie Armstrong Mission Luncheon.
Mrs. James Johnson gave the prayer calendar and led in prayer for the missionaries.
Mrs. Gene Pollock introduced the program from “Mosaic” with an article by Kevin Madden about his son Noah’s trip with four other young men he had recruited to go to Northwest Canada where they found someone to help coordinate plans for a team to host a Bible study there this summer. Another article was on the formation of a partnership between Missouri and Canada to start new churches in Canada.
Mrs. Joe Harris reported on an article describing the work of a North Georgia couple and other trail chaplains serving hikers on the Appalachian Trail.
Mrs. Pollock closed the meeting with prayer.
