Dr. Rich conducts geology course for Washington OLLI
Sixteen members of the Washington Chapter of OLLI@UGA (LIR) attended the winter course titled “Geological Aspects of Great Human Endeavors.”
Dr. Mark Rich, Professor Emeritus of Geology at the University of Georgia led the four-session course about the creation of the Panama Canal, Trans-Alaska Pipeline, the Race for the South Pole, and the Yangtse River deltas, floods and its Three Gorges Dam.
Members and guests are invited to attend the next one-session course titled “Gardens of New Zealand” scheduled for March 29, at 2 p.m., at the Parish House of the Church of the Mediator. The course will be led by Dr. Allan Armitage who promises an entertaining garden trip to one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Cost is $5.00 and refreshments will be served.
