In response to popular demand, the Washington Lions Club will serve its latest chicken barbecue dinner beginning at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, March 20.

The popular event continued its run of success with the fifth consecutive sell-out last month, reported Lions President Willard Lance, who is also head chef for the continuing series of barbecues.

“We appreciate very much the generous response and support we continue to receive,” Lance said. “The only regret we have is that for the last several barbecues, some people have been disappointed when our supply ran out before they could be served. In order to avoid that situation, we urge advance purchase of tickets.”

“Proceeds from the sale will benefit club projects and activities,” said Past President Mary Hubbard. “In addition to Lions International efforts, mainly related to sight conservation, we are pleased to support local efforts like Little League, the annual Steer Show, 4-H, FFA, and helping to provide free eyeglasses to deserving applicants.

Advance tickets are available from any Lions member. Anyone who is not contacted directly may arrange for tickets by calling 706-678-2422 and asking for Mary Hubbard or Lisa Drake. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door while they last.
