Sunday morning at Sardis Baptist Church was Youth Sunday. Brandon Ware of Monroe was the guest speaker. Brandon is the 17-year-old son of Todd and Terri Ware and is a senior at Westminster Christian School. He is the grandson of Norris and Frances Ware of Washington. Many family members and visitors were in the congregation as Brandon impressed the audience with his very first sermon. Rev. Jim Newsome directed the music with Courtney and Maddie Gunter as pianists as the congregation sang beautiful old hymns. The children went down to the altar for their message from Pastor Newsome. The children and youth were in charge of Sunday School and the worship service by teaching a Sunday School Class, taking up offerings, reading scripture, handing out bulletins, saying a prayer, and playing the piano. Participating in this very impressive service were Courtney Gunter, Casey Davis, Jackson Armour, Meredith Gunter, Hunter Armour, Avery Hall, D.C. Lamar, Jordan Thompson, Bryson Porter, Kaitlyn Porter, Lexie Lamar, Jasmine Fry, Jeremiah Fry, Maddie Gunter, and Azeriah Jenkins. They did a good job and we are so proud of our youth leadership at Sardis. ƒFamily night was enjoyed in the annex at Sardis Sunday evening with a bountiful fellowship meal and mission meetings.
