Graveside services with military honors were held in the Tignall Cemetery, Wednesday, March 17, 2010, for Edmund Walter LeRoy, 88, of Scaly Mountain, N.C. He died March 14. Rev. Albert W. Huyck Jr. officiated the service.

Mr. LeRoy was a native of Tignall and the son of the late Edmund Reid and Katie Wagner LeRoy. He was the widower of Jeanelle Wood Le- Roy. After leaving Tignall, he lived in Augusta, Atlanta, Macon, Darien, and finally in Scaly Mountain. He was retired from Yancey Brothers as Service Manager. He was a member of the Tignall Baptist Church and the George Walton Masonic Lodge in Augusta. He served in the United States Army during World War II.

Survivors include a son, Edmund W. LeRoy Jr.; a daughter, Patricia L. Leaptrot and her husband, Mark; a grandson, Andrew M. Leaptrot and his wife Leah; a great-grandson, Avery M. Leaptrot; a sister, Betty LeRoy Langford of Dalton; and several nieces and nephews.

Hopkins Funeral Home of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
