Kathryn Bussey honored at brunch, shower March 6 at Woman’s Club
Kathryn Bussey of Warm Springs, bride-elect of Reid Filipiak, was feted at a brunch and miscellaneous shower at the Woman’s Club in Washington Saturday, March 6.
Entertaining the bride-elect were Sandra Adams, Peggy Anderson, Cherry Andrews, June Baston, Jerry Denard, Linda Garrett, Joan Geddings, Bobbie Griffin, Lavenia Henderson and Angie Strother.
In honor of the occasion the bride-elect was presented a corsage of white tea roses to complement her light yellow dress and bolero sweater ensemble.
A spring forsythia wreath adorned the front door. Inside guests registered at a table that held a budvase of white tea roses, purple waxflower and springeri fern.
Mantels featured tea lights and globes nestled amid clusters of magnolia and forsythia. A candelabrum and magnolia highlighted the buffet in the alcove.
The buffet was overlaid in a light mint green cloth that featured delicate embroidery work. A center mirror reflected a crystal vase arrangement of white Monte Casino, stock and Alstroemeria with touches of purple waxflower and springeri. Individual guests’ tables, covered in white cloths, were decorated with budvases of camellias centered on mirrors. A nearby beverage table was enhanced with clusters of camellias around the silver punch bowl.
Guests enjoyed a delicious buffet of cheese grits, breakfast casserole, blueberry and homemade banana nut muffins, nuts, mints and fruits served from a large crystal compote. Also served were mimosas, coffee, orange juice and water.
The hostesses presented the brideelect an ice bucket etched with the initial “F”.
One hundred guests were invited. Special guests included the brideelect’s mother, Beth Bussey of Columbus; the prospective bridegroom’s mother, Elaine Filipiak; and cousins, Emily and Stephanie Friese of Atlanta.
