Carrrie Rees Burton to marry Forrest Andrew Edge on July 31

Carrie Rees Burton Forrest Andrew Edge Carrie Rees Burton Forrest Andrew Edge Mr. and Mrs. Milburn Hamrick of Lincolnton announce the engagement of their daughter, Carrie Rees Burton, to Forrest Andrew Edge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Mitchell Edge of Soperton.

The bride-elect is also the daughter of the late Matthew Rees Burton. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Russell Reese, Mrs. Leslie Rees Burton and the late James Burton, all of Lincolnton, and Mrs. Geraldine Hamrick-Ishee, Cecil Ishee and the late Sherrill Hamrick of North Augusta, S.C.

Miss Burton is a 2003 graduate of Lincoln County High School, a 2007 graduate of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and a 2009 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Master of Education in Special Education. She is currently continuing her education at Georgia Southern University while also completing her mentorship through the South Carolina Early Autism Project and the Florida Institute of Technology to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Miss Burton is employed by the Candler County Board of Education as a special education teacher at Metter Elementary School.

Mr. Edge is the grandson of Mrs. Ruby Nell Edge and the late Thurmond Edge of Soperton and the late Mrs. Virginia Williams of Newberry, Mich.

He is a 1999 graduate of Treutlen High School of Treutlen County, a 2004 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Sci- ence in Health and Physical Education, a 2007 graduate of Georgia College and State University with Masters of Education in Educational Leadership and a 2008 graduate of Georgia College and State University with a Specialist of Education in Educational Leadership. Mr. Edge is employed by the Treutlen County Board of Education as a wrestling and football coach at Treutlen High School and a physical education teacher at Treutlen Elementary School.

The couple will wed in the presence of their immediate family members on Saturday, July 31, at Beaver Creek Plantation in Twin City. Following the ceremony, family and friends are invited to join them for a celebration reception and
