The disease can usually be prevented by prescribed antibiotics.

She founded Athens Infusion and Pharmacy over a decade ago. Beginning in 2001, this specialty began providing advanced medication packaging systems (bubble wrap) to individuals in assisted living and personal care homes.

Mrs. Hansford and her husband, Tim, have managed the Wills Memorial Hospital Pharmacy for over 20 years.

The Hansfords’ son, Jeff, is still suffering from the effects of Lyme Disease. Mrs. Hansford is an advocate for Lyme awareness at the State Capitol and is a member of the Georgia Lyme Association.
