Frances Wheelis WOM group meets July 5 at Bishop home
The Frances Wheelis Women on Mission of First Baptist Church met in the home of Teresa Bishop Monday evening, July 5.
Melanie Wells, facilitator, presided and led the opening Watchword. Jackie Gillispie offered the opening prayer.
During the business meeting plans were made for several projects. Kay Nelms led the mission action plans and members voted to continue with an offering to Rick’s Institute for the orphanage in Liberia and to make an offering to the Romanian ministry to help with school supplies for the children there. Love offerings were also made to two other worthwhile projects. Many brought school supplies for the Christmas in July project to help provide for the children at the Palmetto Campus of the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home.
Mrs. Bishop led the missionary prayer calendar and told of work in the Sub-Saharan region of Africa. After names of missionaries were given and those with special needs remembered, Mrs. Nelms closed in prayer.
Delicious refreshments were enjoyed during a time of fellowship.
Present were Melanie Wells, Gail Hunter, Eloise Wood, Jackie Gillispie, Julia Palmer, Sue Lance, Louise McClearen, Kay Nelms, Rosemary Hopkins, Susan Pope, Nancy Madden and Teresa Bishop.
