Kay Robinson guest of honor on trip to Cape Cod, Mass.
Mrs. Kay Prater Robinson was the guest of her nephews and their spouses, Dr. and Mrs. Michael Davidson of Tallahassee, Fla., and Dr. and Mrs. James Davidson of Las Vegas, Nev., on a recent holiday to Cape Cod, Mass.
Local accommodations were at the stately Harbor House overlooking the bay in Wood’s Hole.
They attended a welcoming dinner hosted by Dr. Stephen Ross of Nikon Instruments Inc.
The weather was agreeable for antiquing, day trips to Martha’s Vineyard, Edgartown, Sandwich, the Strawberry Festival in Falmouth and Provincetown, site of the Pilgrim landing.
She was also the guest of honor at a fish dinner hosted by the distinguished NIH scientist, Dr. Claire Waterman.
The Marine Biology Laboratory at Wood’s Hole is world renowned for scientific excellence having the distinction of being associated with 54 Nobel Laureates.
The trip was highlighted by lectures on “Breakthrough Advancements in Cell Biology Imaging” by Jennifer Lippincott Schwartz with former Nobel Prize winner Osamu Shimomura in attendance, and “Advancements in Live Cell Imaging Using Flourescent Proteins” by Dr. Michael Davidson.
It was a wonderful trip and current plans are in the works to return there next year for the summer session.
