Energy Audit Workshop to be held by city at Senior Center August 4
The City of Washington and the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) will be sponsoring an Energy Audit Workshop Wednesday, August 4, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Burns Senior Center, 108 Marshall Street, Washington.
The purpose of the workshop is to help citizens learn how to use less energy. The City of Washington will provide the auditing. Benefit includes bill analysis. Energy Audit will be used to prioritize homes receiving audits and the kinds of audits to be performed. Customers will be encouraged to use online audits that will be provided and the first step in identifying upgrades.
Home “walkthrough” audits will represent about 60 percent of the home audits while Home Performance with Energy Star audits that focus on the diagnostic tools will be conducted for homes where the saving potential warrants these more involved audits.
Wilkes County citizens are invited to attend this Energy Audit Workshop so they can learn to improve energy efficiency, reduce electricity usage, reduce costs on household, how to weatherize a home, information that can help save money on bills, and programs that may be able to assist homeowners.
These services are funded through a grant from the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) and are being offered free to the City of Washington and the surrounding areas.
Individuals may contact Mildred Hudson, Barbara Bacon, or David Jenkins at 706-678-3277 with questions and concerns.
